The Execu|Search Group’s website named one of “The 20 Best Job Search Web Sites” by PCMag
New York, March 2009 - The Execu|Search Group’s website, www.execu-search.com, was listed as one of “The 20 Best Job Search Web Sites” by PCMag, one of the world's best-known publishers of leading technology-based digital content products. The article highlights 20 web sites that take a different approach to helping job seekers find a job.
The Execu|Search Group website – which is updated daily and currently lists more than 900 jobs – is dedicated to making the job search process easier for both job seekers and employers. “Execu|Search looks to be a selective, higher-tier job search property,” said Sean Ludwig, editor of the PCMag article. “Execu|Search screens and reviews every resume that is submitted, and helps employers find the best possible candidates for their open positions.”
For those seeking a position, searching for jobs on www.execu-search.com is as simple as entering keywords or choosing an industry, location, and practice area. Job seekers can also create and manage Job Alerts, e-mails with the latest jobs that match their job search preferences.
Employers can use the Execu|Search website to easily submit job orders online. After submitting a job order online, employers are assigned to a recruiter who evaluates each employer’s needs and finds the right professional for the position.

The Execu|Search Group’s CEO Edward Fleischman tells CNBC: “Finding a new job can be done"New York, February 2009 - Edward Fleischman, CEO of The Execu|Search Group, was recently interviewed by CNBC’s Mark Koba in regards to the current job outlook in the Financial Services industry. While recent turmoil on Wall Street has left many finance professionals without a job or, at best, without job security, Fleischman believes there are good opportunities available for professionals willing to be sensible and strategic in their search.
While there has been a substantial drop in hiring within Financial Services, other industries are not only hiring - they’re growing. Professionals willing to expand their search to other industries – for example, Health Services (i.e., Pharmaceuticals), Technology, Government, and the Legal field (i.e., law firms specializing in investment banking) – are more likely to find success.
It’s also important to remember that the number of job seekers has increased substantially in the City of New York and the Tri-State area over the past several months, and that means extraordinary competition for fewer jobs. Job seekers would do well to look beyond New York City and consider re-locating as firms in many other areas of the country would love to hire experienced New York talent.
Fleischman also points out that looking for a job is, in itself, a full-time job, and it is vital to devote as much time as possible to the process. In addition to utilizing recruitment firms and personal connections with friends and former colleagues to assist you with your search, online professional networking services such as LinkedIn can be an excellent resource and a great way to get your foot in the door. Recruiters from all divisions at The Execu|Search Group can be found on LinkedIn and are always open to connect with those seeking employment.
Above all, says Fleischman: “You have to have a good mental outlook. Wake up every morning and go find it.”

The Execu|Search Group ranked as one of the “Top 50 Best Places to Work in New York City”
New York, December 2008 - Based on the results of Crain’s 2008 survey of “The Best Places to Work in New York City”, The Execu|Search Group has landed among the elite top 50 companies recognized. Our firm is proud and honored to have been among the most highly ranked workplaces in the area, and we are grateful to all of our employees for their decisive part in this achievement.
Results of the survey were based on responses from more than 25,000 employees at over 300 firms in the New York City area. Conducted by Crain’s in partnership with Quantum Market Research, the survey measured the extent to which employees felt valued, trusted the company’s leadership, and felt they were provided with opportunities for advancement. It is a privilege to be in the company of all of the highly successful, respected organizations whose employees earned them this distinction. (View the complete list here)
At Execu|Search, our employees are unified around the same mission – to provide top-level, uniquely personal service to every client and professional with whom we work. Valuing and respecting our employees for that service is, quite simply, a given, for, without their hard work and dedication, The Execu|Search Group would not have developed the longstanding and leading reputation in the recruitment and staffing industry that it has since we opened our doors more than 20 years ago.
To that end, our workplace is also built around the notion that great work should be recognized and rewarded. Firm-wide social events ranging from monthly charitable fundraising events to daily gatherings in the firm’s Recreational Room for games of ping pong and billiards help us to achieve a balanced work environment. We also believe in providing performance incentives and growth opportunities; for example, we have initiated a firm-sponsored “Chairman’s Circle” event in which the firm’s top performers are rewarded for their top service with a weekend-long getaway at a major resort.

The Execu|Search Group’s CEO Edward Fleischman interviewed on BBC’s “Alvin Hall’s Wall Street Walk”
New York, October 2008 - Edward Fleischman, CEO of The Execu|Search Group, was interviewed by BBC’s Alvin Hall for a special report titled, “Alvin Hall’s Wall Street Walk.” The special uncovered untold stories of people in and around the Wall Street Community and how their lives were impacted by the crash in 2008.
Hall, who worked on Wall Street for more than 30 years, was interested in calling out the ripple effect of the crash and its impact not just on executives, but on everyone from charitable organizations who depend on Wall Street donors, to administrative workers and their families, and beyond. Meeting with laid-off businessmen, small business organizations, and even a psychologist, Hall asked how each was uniquely affected by the Wall Street crisis and whether or not they thought they could survive the credit crunch.
Edward Fleischman was chosen for the interview based on his 25+ years of experience in the recruiting field. Hall asked for his observations on the effects of the crisis on the job market, the job seeker’s mental psyche, and the likelihood that those laid off on Wall Street would be able to find a job. Remaining optimistic, Fleischman believes there are opportunities available for professionals who are willing to be sensible and strategic in their search; however, he acknowledged that sacrifices, such as relocation and pay cuts, may have to be made.
Part of a BBC’s Radio 4 series, Crash, this interview was aired on Thursday October 23.
Jeff Rossen of WNBC-TV interviews Edward Fleischman, CEO of The Execu|Search Group
New York, September 2008 - In the wake of Lehman Brother’s collapse, reporter Jeff Rossen of NBC –TV, took time to interview the CEO of The Execu|Search Group, Edward Fleischman.
Standing outside of the Lehman Brothers building, Rossen asked former Lehman employees what their next step would be. “I have no idea,” one former Lehman employee answered. Seeking tips and insight for the increasing number of white collar job seekers, Rossen visited The Execu|Search Group at its headquarters in New York City -- home to one of the largest financial recruiting firms in the City of New York and the Tri-State area.
Upon witnessing the Execu|Search financial recruiters receiving a flood of phone calls and resumes from worried workers, Rossen spoke with Edward Fleischman to gain some insight on the financial crisis and its effect on the job market.
Answering questions about first steps, the job market, and what white collar job seekers can do to find a job, Fleischman discussed the effects on the employment situation for the financial services sector, from college grads to senior executives.
“The people who are going to have problems out there are the people who just graduated and just got a job, or who may be a year or two out,” Fleischman said. “They will have problems in this market place.” In regards to senior executives who are seeking new opportunities, Fleischman recommended using all possible networks, including recruiters and niche job boards, to find a new position.
Utilizing existing skills in another industry to make a job change is also possibility, Fleischman explained. For example, an investment banker who specialized in dealing with hospitals could transfer his skills to work as a financial executive in a hospital setting, or could join a consulting firm dealing with the healthcare industry. He went on to suggest that because New York City is very rich in financial talent, it may be wise to expand the job search to areas with less concentrated pools of talent. Firms in other regions of the world would love to hire experienced New York finance professionals. Job seekers should be open to relocation and be willing to take a salary cut, if needed.
Finally, Fleischman closed with optimism, “There is a job out there - you have to stay positive, be smart, and put in the work to find it."
